The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced that it will conduct an extra Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) before the end of October 2026. In a notice released on Thursday, the board stated that this third attempt this year is meant to give eligible foreign medical graduates an earlier chance to sit for the screening test.
This decision comes after the foreign medical student wing of the All India Medical Student Association withdrew its protest, following NBEMS’s announcement of several measures related to the FMGE. The resolution came after a meeting between student representatives and exam officials, bringing an end to protests that had continued for over a week in New Delhi’s Gautam Nagar area.
