The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has introduced a fresh English textbook for Class 9, named Kaveri. This edition prioritizes Indian authors and integrates elements from Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS). Developed in line with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023, Kaveri replaces the previous books Beehive and Moments. In contrast to the old textbooks, used from 2006-07 to 2025-26, which included 15 out of 29 texts by international writers, the new one achieves a perfect balance between Indian and global perspectives.
