The New Zealand government has introduced a partial scholarship package worth NZD 260,000 under the New Zealand Excellence Awards (NZEA) 2025, aimed at supporting Indian students. In addition, a unique Virtual Internship Programme was announced, offering 30 IIT Delhi students the opportunity to intern remotely with New Zealand companies. This initiative will provide valuable cross-border industry experience and insights into New Zealand’s innovative work culture.

As part of ongoing academic collaboration, institutions from New Zealand and India are set to sign a series of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to promote student mobility, joint research, and academic exchange.

The announcements were made by New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon during an event at IIT Delhi, which also celebrated the New Zealand Centre — a flagship initiative that unites all New Zealand universities in partnership with IIT Delhi.
