Schools in Jammu and Kashmir will stay shut on March 2 and 3, 2026, due to repeated Pakistani drone incursions near the Line of Control, against the backdrop of rising West Asia tensions.
The Directorate of School Education Kashmir has suspended the planned reopening of schools up to Class 8, originally set after winter break, prioritizing student safety.
The official order declares: “For administrative reasons and to ensure student safety, all government and private recognized schools in the Kashmir Division must remain closed on March 2nd and 3rd, 2026.”
