To raise the standard of education in the state, a group of private, unaided school forums on Tuesday suggested that the state employ National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) textbooks in Karnataka’s secondary schools.

The forum suggested that the state implement “two-level math” in Classes 9 through 12, which would be comparable to the basic and standard levels utilized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), under the purview of the Karnataka State School Education Quality Development Joint Committee. The basic level is intended for children who do not want to pursue mathematics as a field of study, whereas the standard level contains problems that are more challenging.
