A key institution under the Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST), established in 1940, RV Institute of Management (RVIM) is an integral part of the renowned RV Group, which oversees 27 institutions and educates over 20,000 students from India and abroad. Located in the vibrant suburb of Jayanagar, Bangalore, RVIM boasts a beautiful campus that fosters an environment conducive to academic excellence and professional growth. With a distinguished faculty comprising experienced industry professionals, state-of-the-art infrastructure, a student-centric approach, and strong placement support, the institute is committed to its mission of serving society. Demonstrating its commitment to academic excellence, RVIM was re-accredited by NAAC with an ‘A+’ Grade in May 2019 and received certification from QS I-Gauge, a global accreditation agency, for E-Readiness in 2020. RVIM offers a two-year, full-time MBA program along with a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA). The MBA program, an autonomous day scholar course, is affiliated with Bengaluru City University, approved by AICTE, and recognized by the Government of Karnataka. The PGDBA program is designed for graduates seeking a career in analytics, as well as for working professionals looking to transition into the field or advance in their careers. It features a comprehensive curriculum that integrates experiential learning, core subjects, skill enhancement courses, functional and open electives, and a real-world capstone project.
Excellence in Industry Partnerships and Collaborations
RV Institute of Management (RVIM) has established a strong placement record, reflecting its commitment to student career advancement. In the 2021-23 placement cycle, 68 companies participated in recruitment, resulting in 158 students securing job offers. The highest package offered stood at INR 14.25 lakhs per annum, while the average package was INR 6.8 lakhs per annum. RVIM’s industry partnerships play a pivotal role in facilitating both on-campus and off-campus placement opportunities, with off-campus recruitment conducted in collaboration with various organizations that invite management students from different institutions to participate.
To ensure students are well-prepared for the job market, RVIM integrates a structured training calendar throughout the MBA program. From the first semester, students undergo training in essential areas such as English immersion, IT skills, aptitude training, and life skills, including outbound training sessions. Weekly in-house training is a mandatory component of the curriculum, enhancing employability through guest lectures, seminars, and workshops. These sessions focus on key competencies such as communication skills, presentation techniques, stress and time management, and soft skills aptitude training.
Additionally, RVIM emphasizes experiential learning through mandatory summer internships, undertaken at the end of the second semester under faculty supervision. These internships provide students with hands-on exposure to industry practices, helping them explore career prospects and build foundational professional skills. The placement cell facilitates the internship selection process by notifying students of available opportunities and coordinating preliminary interviews. Upon securing an internship, students receive official approvals from the respective companies, and their final project reports are evaluated by a panel of examiners upon completion.
