Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Industrial Training Institute (SDM ITI), aims to deliver cutting-edge technical education. Located adjacent to SDM Medical College on the Hubli-Dharwad Road, it occupies a spacious building and is affiliated with DGET, Ministry of Labour, Government of India, and recognized by Karnataka Government. Inaugurated by Dr. D Veerendra Heggade, it fosters employable skills for the industrial sector.

Future Plans

Upcoming initiatives include Mechanic Electric Vehicle (MEV) course due to rising demand, expanded On-Job Training (OJT) via industry tie-ups (TATA Motors, Hitachi), fabrication production during practicals, and skill upgrades in TIG/MIG welding, CNC, motor winding. To boost female participation, targeted counseling addresses entry barriers.

Achievements and Rankings : SDM ITI ranks high nationally, earning an 8.1 grading (0-10 scale) from DGT, MSDE for 2025-26 among 14,580 ITIs. It secured 2nd place in Karnataka’s state-level ITI Environment Month-2025 competition by DITE and Toyota Bangalore. Trainee Praveen Byadagi (Electrician) won 2nd in national KATA/KUNTE Karate Championship, Andhra Pradesh, 2017, whereas Welder/Electrician trainees took 1st in District Skill Expo-2017.

Facilities : The spacious campus boosts focus, featuring full-fledged workshops with modern tools, computer/internet access, a well-stocked library, and TIG/MIG welding training. Connectivity to nearby towns, a seminar hall with smart boards/AV, personality development sessions, industrial visits, and campus placements enhance opportunities.
