From October 1, 2024, New Zealand will raise visa costs for most categories. The cost of applying for a student visa will double, but it will still be far less than what Australia already charges.The prices for post-study work visas will increase from NZD 700 to NZD 1,670, while the fees for student visas will remain the same at NZD 375 to NZD 750.
This action is in contrast to the comparatively cheap visa fees charged in other popular study locations, such as Canada CDN$150 (NZ$180) and the United States US$185 (NZ$310), and it comes only one month after Australia decided to quadruple its student visa application fees to AUD$1,600 (NZ$1,750).
