The University Grants Commission (UGC) on Monday launched the UGC India WhatsApp Channel for real-time updates on higher education. The WhatsApp channel, UGC-India WhatsApp Channel, seeks to foster an ‘inclusive and informed higher education landscape’.
With the launch of the new channel, students, faculty, colleges and universities will be able to navigate information on higher education in real-time.

With the launch of the new channel, students, faculty, colleges and universities will be able to navigate information on higher education in real-time.
Faculties of colleges and universities can benefit from the real-time information on modifications in curriculum, assessment methodologies and professional development opportunities through the WhatsApp channel. Students, on the other hand, will also be able to check the channel for updates on exams, scholarships, admissions and other relevant information on higher education.
This initiative, the chairman added, sets a precedent for leveraging digital tools to enhance accessibility, transparency and efficiency in education governance.
