On Tuesday, the University Grants Commission (UGC) took down the draft guidelines from its website, which had proposed the “de-reservation” of reserved posts in case an insufficient number of candidates from the SC, ST, and OBC categories were available. This move comes amid controversy surrounding the issue. UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar stated that the removal of the guidelines from the website is attributed to the conclusion of the feedback submission period for stakeholders.
