Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has instituted new standards for the Postgraduation Work Permit (PGWP) program as of November 1.
The goal of these revisions is to make it easier for overseas students who want to work in Canada after graduation to be eligible, which includes language competency and certain subjects of study.
The potential effects of these modifications on your application are broken out below.
The new regulations require PGWP candidates who wish to study in Canada to include documentation of their language skills with their application.
The Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) will be used to gauge English speakers’ competency, while the Niveaux de Compétence Linguistique Canadien (NCLC) will be used for French speakers.
Reading, writing, speaking, and listening are the four abilities that are covered in the proficiency test.
