An official said on Monday that the CBSE will create a sub-regional office in Agartala in response to the poor board exam results of its affiliated state-run schools. Following the BJP’s 2018 election victory in Tripura, the CBSE implemented an English-medium curriculum and renamed 125 state-run schools as Vidyajyoti Schools.
Although 61% of the students from these institutions passed the CBSE class 10 exams this year, just 59% of them passed the class 12 exams. These schools were once run by the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) and taught Bengali as its primary language.
