The professional attitudes of Generation Z have been a topic of discussion for several years as more graduates enter the workforce. Placement officers in colleges and universities have observed a growing trend where companies are offering internships instead of direct job placements to assess candidates’ professionalism.
Corporate employers are increasingly opting for three-to-six-month internships as a means to evaluate potential hires rather than relying on a single interview. “These days, everyone is ‘AI-enabled,’ and students are strategically trained for 20-minute interviews. However, a candidate’s true capabilities can only be assessed through actual work experience within an organization,” said Monisha Aluvilla, head of placements and career guidance for management studies at Christ University.
