“Dharma Sansthapanartham” (for the sake of establishing the primacy of the laws of eternal values) is the motto of Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, established by the Government of Chhattisgarh under the Hidayatullah National University of Law, Chhattisgarh, Act (Act No.10 of 2003) ( Top Law College IN INDIA).
HNLU is a Residential University and is sixth in the series of National Law Schools in India (Best Law college in India). HNLU has been included in the list of the Universities maintained by the University Grants Commission under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 and has been declared fit to receive Central assistance in terms of the rules framed under Section 12 (B) of the UGC Act, 1956 “(Top LLB Colleges). The university is recognized by the Bar Council of India under section 7 of the Advocates Act. Hon’ble Mr. Justice Arun Mishra, Judge, Supreme Court of India is the Visitor, Hon’ble Mr. P. R. Ramachandra Menon, Chief Justice, High Court of Chhattisgarh is the Chancellor and Shri Justice Chandra Bhushan Bajpai, Former Judge of the High Court of Chhattisgarh is the Vice-Chancellor of the University.

1.B.A.LL.B. (Hons.)
Under-Graduate Program [B.A.LL.B. (Hons.)]
Eligibility at Hidayatullah National Law University :
Admission to the B.A.LL.B. (Honours) Program shall exclusively be based on the performance of the candidate in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT)( Law colleges in Raipur). However, in order to be eligible to appear in CLAT, a candidate should have obtained a Senior Secondary School/Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent certificate from a recognized Board with not less than 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of SC/ST candidates) and should be below 20 years of age as on 1st July 2015 (22 years in case of SC/ST and PWD candidates) ( List of Law College).
2.LL.M. Program
Post-Graduate Program (One-Year LL.M.) :
HNLU offeres one-year LL.M. Program spread over three trimesters(Law colleges in Chhattisgarh). The LL.M. program is designed to inculcate research skills and analytical abilities in students. In addition to classroom training imparted through innovative teaching methods, the LL.M. Program is focused on self-learning and research conducted by the students under the guidance of the faculty members.
Eligibility At Hidayatullah National Law University :
Admission to the LL.M. Program shall exclusively be based on the performance of the candidate in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). However, in order to be eligible to appear in CLAT, a candidate should have obtained a LL.B./B.L. Degree or an equivalent degree from a recognized University with not less than 55% marks in aggregate (50% in case of SC and ST candidates). The candidates who have passed the qualifying degree examination through supplementary / compartment and repeat attempts are also eligible for such candidates will have to produce the proof of having passed the qualifying examination with fifty-five/fifty percent marks, as the case may be, on the date of their admission or within the time allowed by the respective universities.
3.Ph.D. Program
Ph.D. Program in Law has commenced at HNLU w.e.f. academic session 2014-15 wherein admission of scholars is made strictly on the basis of admission test conducted by the University separately. The intake to Ph.D. program is 30.
Duration of Ph.D. Programme :
A Ph.D. (Law) Programme scholar may be allowed to supplicate his/her Ph.D. thesis after the completion of two Academic Calendar Years of the University from the date of his/her Registration. However, no Ph.D. scholar may be allowed to supplicate his/her Ph.D. thesis later than four Academic Calendar Years from the date of his/her Registration.
Availability of Scholarship at Hidayatullah National Law University :
Students belonging to the Chhattisgarh Domicile SC, ST and OBC category are provided with scholarships from the Government of Chhattisgarh. Further, the students belonging to PWD and Minority Communities are also provided with scholarships under various Government Schemes.
