The Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE) was established in 1964 as an autonomous non-profit society. IPE is a premier AICTE approved management Institute, who’s key objectives includes management education, research, consultancy, and training. In 1995, the Institute launched its first two year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programme to provide skilled human resources to meet the requirements of industry.
Keeping in view the market demand, the Institute also launched sector-specific PGDM programs in the areas of Marketing, Banking Insurance and Financial Services, International Business and Human Resource Management. IPE’s engagement with long-term management education has received wide appreciation from the industry, government and social sector enterprises. The Institute continuously endeavors to update the content and teaching methodology of its courses based on feedback from the end-users, ensuring the quality, relevance and utility of all its programs and courses.
All the PGDM programs at the Institute of Public Enterprise are engaging, agile, and with a rigorous approach to train students in becoming leaders who make a significant difference in the world. IPE has involved several industry-experts in the curation process of the curriculum, making it world-oriented. Letting only experienced individuals head the parade of the onboard faculty at IPE, the faculty members guide and help students on professional, as well as on personal fronts. The four storied air-conditioned Academic Block with a total built up area of 1,66,342 Sq.ft. comprises Faculty Rooms, Classrooms, Computer Labs, Office Rooms and workstations, Seminar Halls, Board Room, Library and an Auditorium. The campus is spread over 22 acres in pollution free environs on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Besides providing a state-of-the-art infrastructure, the Institute provides all facilities to enhance the learning experience of the students. IPE Library is designed as a space to explore research, learn, and create. The Institute library has a rich collection of 45,784 documents, which includes books, reports and journal back volumes in different areas of management, economics, information technology, etc. It annually receives more than 120 journals of National and International in print.

Having originally been conceived as a research institution, the focus is not only on public enterprises, but private entities as well. The Institute is partly funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, GoI. The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Ministry of Human Resources Development, GoI recognized the Institute as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ in Social Science research. The Institute has a record for delivering the inputs in time with application orientation.
Consistently ranked among the leading B-Schools in India, IPE has been awarded a premium accreditation label of the SAARC region, ‘The South Asian Quality Assurance System’ (SAQS). Over the years IPE has won several awards and honors for its academic & research excellence. The system also provides news, price quotes, and messaging across its proprietary secure network. It is well-known among the financial community for its black interface, which is not optimized for user experience but has become a recognizable trait of the service. Bloomberg terminal provides access to real time national and international financial data, market information, business news, and cutting edge financial analysis tools.
Internships and Placements
The Summer Internship Program (SIP) not only helps fresh pass-outs in gaining professional know-how but also benefits corporations with fresh perspectives on business issues and even discovering future business leaders. IPE has initiated various activities for promoting industrial internships at the postgraduate level in management institutes. The main aim of these initiatives is the enhancement of the employability skills of the students passing out from Management Institutions.
