An Elaborate Curriculum for All-Round Nurturing
The Montessori curriculum broadly follows five key areas of learning. The first area, Exercises of Practical Life (EPL), involves simple activities such as pouring, transferring, buttoning, and polishing, which help children build a strong foundation in organization, independence, and concentration. This foundation also forms the basis for learning math and language. In the second area, children develop their intelligence through learning with their senses. They explore dimensions, shapes, colors, textures, and aromas while developing their 3-finger-grasp for writing. This area also helps children develop cognitive skills such as thinking, judging, and comparing, which lead to the development of a mathematical mind and problem-solving capacity. The third area encourages children to learn concepts in concrete forms. Rather than simply rote counting, they learn to feel the quantities through materials such as Sandpaper Numbers and The Golden Bead Material, which make learning math skills interesting and engaging. In the fourth area, language development begins early, with the toddler program incorporating simple and fun games, stories, and songs to develop children’s vocabulary. This area provides a stimulating language-rich environment with puzzles and matching activities. Finally, in the fifth area, children learn about the world around them, exploring a range of subjects from botany to zoology, from geography to history. They also learn about various cultures through active celebrations in the school.
“At our school, we understand the importance of social skills and incorporate them into our curriculum through role-playing activities”, shared – Ms. Stuti Mehrotra, the Founder. “We also recognize the benefits of music for children’s development and incorporate Kindermusik’s research-based curriculum into our program”, she continued. Furthermore, aiming to cultivate a scientific mindset in the students by engaging them in simple science experiments, at Linden students are motivated to boost curiosity and teach them to ask questions and find answers.
All in all, Linden Montessori School strongly believes in providing experiential learning to children. The school’s approach to learning goes beyond the confines of traditional classrooms and extends to activity areas, dining areas, and play areas. Linden Montessori has been in operation for 9 years and has witnessed significant growth and development in the children who have been a part of the school. The school takes pride in being an independent institution and not a franchise model, standing out among the established brands, where the School’s growth has been primarily driven by word-of-mouth from satisfied parents.
