Nitte School of Fashion Technology and Interior Design (NSFTID) is strategically situated in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and has been a constituent college of Nitte (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, since October 2024. We had the privilege of speaking with Dr. Sandhya Ravi, the Principal of NSFTID, who has played a key role in transforming the institute into a prominent leader in design education. During our conversation, we asked her what sets NSFTID apart from its competitors. She explained, “Across all our programs, we focus on bridging academic theory and industry practice through collaborations with fashion and textile organizations, equipping students with the relevant skills and knowledge.” Dr. Ravi also highlighted the institute’s commitment to technological advancement, saying, “Students are trained in advanced tools such as CAD, CLO 3D design software, and digital pattern-making, while also learning sustainable textile technologies to meet the global fashion industry’s evolving needs.”
