Many cities, including Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram, stopped their schools due to the worsening air quality, and courses are now being conducted online. Authorities made this choice because of the sharp decline in the Air Quality Index (AQI) in certain cities. Delhi’s air pollution levels rose to the point that restrictions under Grade 4 were put into place on Saturday, effective immediately. At first, all schools were to be closed, with the exception of Classes 10 and 12. However, the national capital’s Class 10 and 12 schools were also shut down following the Supreme Court’s ruling.
Physical classes are suspended at JNU, DU, and Jamia.
In addition, JNU, Delhi University opted to hold online sessions till November 23 and postponed in-person classes due to the low AQI. As a result, the DU will reopen on November 25.
Jamia Millia Islamia University will also be closed till November 23 in addition to Jawaharlal Nehru University. Therefore, until November 23, the majority of Delhi’s schools and institutions will be closed.
Due to rising air pollution, schools have also been closed in Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Gurugram, and Faridabad. Instead, lectures will now be held online.
