“India’s future is strongly integrated with the future of the Next Generation Managers”
-Pranab Mukherjee, Hon. Former President of India
With the economy and business environment going through a major transition and posing challenges for young Indians to equip themselves for a new era, the importance of an astute B-School institute cannot be stressed enough. The particular institute that you select is not just your alma mater, but also your partner and guide that will help you realize your path towards your Everest!
The four major forces that are driving the future of business schools globally are skill-based careers, technological advancements, demographics, and environmental sustainability concerns. As a result, the world today demands sensitized and responsible managers with the right attitude and aspirations so as to contribute to a sustainable business development. Textbook knowledge just doesn’t cut it anymore; multidisciplinary skills and an understanding of business at local are global level are very important components that the global market looks for.
India is known for its affinity for churning out management professionals by the thousands, and has therefore been a playground for scores of institutions claiming to provide the best of the management education. For any B-school to impart meaningful business education, the quality of faculty members is paramount. Moreover, the faculty body with all its qualification needs to connect with the industry. The faculty members should partake in research activities that are valued by companies, as well as the practicing managers. This will help them to impart quality education, than borrowing information such as case studies from international B-schools, which may not be relevant to the Indian context. Moreover, the quality and quantity of the curriculum should also be discussed with paramount importance. Most text books that impart management education are childish and not up to the international standards. We have previously made it known to our readers the alarming rate of unemployability among young managers, and factors such as those discussed above do not help the situation.
We believe that the mark of any successful B-school lies in the quality of values it delivers to the rest of the world. An ideal institute should provide an environment that is conducive to learning, where students can get ample opportunities to learn, experiment, and apply the knowledge and skills that will help them explore their career in Management and Entrepreneurship.
We at the Academic Insights have decided to be the foghorn for all the stakeholders in the business education, as we bring to you the ‘Top B-Schools of India’.
